Here’s a link from Publishing Perspectives which tells of Amazon’s buy button being taken down because of a supposed flaw in manufacturing — the edges of the pages were not trimmed!
A friend tells me that the words “Deckle edges” have been added to the description of all their hardbacks at Amazon with deckle edges, because it was provoking constant back and forth from Amazon’s customer service. Seems the warning on Amazon.co.uk may not to be working, though the post hints at a concerted campaign to make the book unavailable. Certainly Knopf’s “warning” is less extensive than the Harper one linked from my previous post on this subject.
