The Copyright Office has granted an exemption to the copyright law allowing those poor farmers to repair their tractors despite the software housed therein. Apparently the impetus to this move was the VW emissions scandal. Slate and The Digital Reader have the story. Clearly DRM on e-books is a lesser scandal.
